Australian Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) — Document Checklist
A guide to the documents typically required when applying to visit family or friends in Australia. Prepare the items that apply to your situation before lodging your application.

1. Identity Documents
Who you are.
- Current passport — all pages, valid at least 6 months from your travel date, with sufficient blank pages
- All previous / old passports
- National ID card (or birth certificate, as applicable by age)
- Proof of any change of name — e.g. marriage certificate / Nikah Nama
- Recent passport-sized photograph
2. Proof of Funds & Financial Capacity
That you can support your stay and return home.
- Personal bank statements (last 3–6 months)
- Bank solvency certificate
- Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) or savings certificates (if any)
- FDR / bank account statement
- Income tax returns (last 3 years) & tax clearance certificate
- Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) certificate
3. Employment & Occupation
Provide the documents that match your situation.
- If employed (service holder): employer/official letter confirming your position and approved leave, recent pay slips, and salary certificate
- If a business owner: trade licence / business registration (with certified English translation & notarisation), and company bank statement (last 6 months)
- If retired: retirement / pension certificate (with certified English translation & notarisation)
- If a student: enrolment certificate / student ID and a leave-of-absence letter from your institution
4. Property, Business & Assets
Strong ties to your home country.
- Property or land ownership deed (if any)
- Property / asset valuation report
- Commercial shop or flat rental agreement (rental income)
5. Invitation & Your Host in Australia
Who is inviting you and their status in Australia.
- Invitation letter from your family member in Australia (relationship, purpose of visit, length of stay, and accommodation)
- Host’s passport and visa grant letter / proof of residency status
- Host’s Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) and Student ID, if they are a student
- If your host is hosting or sponsoring you: their utility bill, recent bank statements and income tax certificate
6. Relationship & Supporting Documents
Your relationship, ties and travel plans.
- Birth registration certificate (proof of relationship)
- Marriage certificate & Nikah Nama
- Utility bill (proof of address)
- Travel plan / itinerary for your visit
- Cover letter explaining the purpose of your visit and your intention to return home
